Oxford Nation Year in Review

Our philanthropy club had its most successful year in recent memory, and that’s due in large part to the efforts of our faculty leaders (Ms. Clark & Mr. Cartier) and our student leaders (Espoir K. and Charlie T.).

Here are some facts about Oxford Nation this year:

-17 non profit charities/organizations/groups received donations this school year

-Total of approximately $2900 donated by our Oxford community (with families also contributing to the holiday giving fund)

-Oxford Nation had 12 members this year, which officially makes it Oxford’s most popular club(!)

-Our contributions went to a variety of local and international causes including the following:

Make-a-Wish Foundation;

The Valley Stands Up Refugee Project

Didier Drogba Foundation (educational support for children in need in Africa)

World Central Kitchen Haiti Project

Alzheimer’s Association

Support for a local Westbrook boy in need of medical treatment

NXTHVN ARTS Fellowship and Apprenticeship Program

Hole in the Wall Gang Camps (fun summer camps for seriously ill youth)

Trout Unlimited— (protecting environmental waterways)

RAZOM (non-profit organization bringing medical support to Ukraine);

CARE— targeted contribution for famine and drought relief in Somalia and Ukraine

American Red Cross— blood drive support, donation

Project Paws (Old-Lyme): Therapy dog program

Uvalde, Texas: School victims and survivors fund

Needless to say, we couldn’t be much prouder of these efforts of this club and our community.

Go Oxford Nation!
