The Day of The Dead

The day of the dead takes place starts on October 31st and ends on November 2nd. It is a 3 day holiday with dancing, eating, and socializing. The Day of The Dead was started by the Aztecs in Mexico around the 16th century. The Day of The Dead is 3 days to celebrate and honor your passed loved ones.


During the 3 days family take the opportunity to take care of their loved ones graves. They weed, decorate, and freshen up the grave to look nice. Usually food, flowers, and candles are placed on the graves. The family sings, dances, and eats non-stop during the 3 days. This celebration is prepared days before the actual event to make the food and max decorate everything to make it as festive as possible.


People love the day of the dead so they can see or feel the presence of their passed loved ones. The celebration has transformed over the years and is now celebrated all over the world. Although the traditions are different in other places the message remains the same. Celebrating the day of the dead is a true celebration of life.
